Posted on September 4, 2012

Bustamante Enterprises’ Antiques Show and Sale returns to the San Mateo County Event Center this weekend.

The Show and Sale features rare treasure, antiques, fine and decorative art and vintage collectibles.

Quality antiques will fill Fiesta Hall with every type of antique imaginable, all on display and all for sale. Select from a wide range of top quality antiques, fine art, furniture, heirloom jewelry, vintage time pieces, porcelains, bronzes, silver, art glass, crystal, folk art, quilts, rugs, linens and many other unique antique treasures.

Learn the difference between true antique, near antique and vintage

A true antique is at least 100 years old according to the majority of antique dealers. This is based on tradition and the customs laws of many countries. However, some societies define antiques as having been made before 1930.

Near antique is anywhere between 75 to 99 years old.  Vintage is defined by, “of a certain time”. It is the description used for a range of collectibles, and especially those from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

The purchase of good antiques and books is a sound investment. Seeing, selecting, feeling and buying an item in one of these events far exceeds the experience of blind purchasing where personal contact with an object and seller is non-existing.

Antiques and collectibles ranging from 17th century tapestries to art nouveau and deco accessories and jewelry are featured at the show. Prestigious dealers from throughout the country display millions of dollars worth of such rarities as Tiffany lamps, Ming vases, Renaissance furniture and paintings, Georgian silver and many other unique antiquities.
