The MPSF Speaker Series has twice been voted “Best Lecture Series in the Nation” by the International Platform Association, and provides 3 separate speakers series locations.  Past speakers have included President Jimmy Carter, Bill Moyers, Lesley Stahl, Ann Richard and Carl Sagan.

Speaker scheduled for January 9:  Robert Gates.

One of the most respected leaders in recent U.S. history, Robert Gates served as the 22nd United States Secretary of Defense from 2006 to 2011. As a trusted advisor to eight U.S. presidents, driving U.S. intelligence and defense policies over the past four and a half decades from the Cold War to today’s ongoing war on terrorism. Gates served for 26 years in the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Council, and under President George H. W. Bush as Director of Central Intelligence. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award, by President Obama during his retirement ceremony.
