We don’t  know about you, but here at SMEC, summertime cannot come fast enough!  The 2013 San Mateo County Fair is scheduled for June 8 through 16 and advance discounted ticket sales are already in progress!

WFA Awards

The San Mateo County Fair, a proud part of the San Mateo community for over 79 years, has just received numerous awards for the 2012 Fair, programs, content and participation in the community.

“We at the San Mateo Event Center are most proud of the fact that the Fair provides a platform for San Mateo County residents and that their participation has resulted in specific recognition for their achievements,” said San Mateo County Event Center General Manager, Chris Carpenter.

The San Mateo County Fair garnered awards in 24 of the 29 categories submitted in the Western Fairs Association Achievement Awards Program.  The goal of WFA’s Achievement Awards Program is to recognize excellence, and share new successful ideas and programs. The primary purpose of the program is to facilitate, share and promote great ideas, so that WFA can create a helpful resource to guide future programs.

Every year, all Fairs on the West Coast can send entries about the latest and greatest aspects that were present at the Fair to the WFA.  The results are in:  The San Mateo County Fair received 1st place in the following categories:

  • Viral or Video Documentation
  • Outdoor Advertising
  • 2nd Fair/Fairgrounds-Sponsored Event Marketing
  • Interim Events

It is an honor to receive such prestigious awards and to be recognized by their peers in the industry. The San Mateo County Fair will be accepting their awards at the Western Fairs Association Convention in January!  This is a wonderful accomplishment for the San Mateo County community.

Yes!  It is that time already to start thinking about the San Mateo County Fair!  In fact, they are already having a pre-sale on tickets!  Hurry!  The pre-sale ends March 31!

  • Junior (6-12) Admission – $4 + Fee
  • Senior (62+) Admission – $4 + Fee

 Season Passes (Good for all 9 days of Fair) – For those who know they want to enjoy more from the Fair!
