March 28: Business Matchmaking – Where Buyers and Sellers Meet Face-to-Face

On March 28 from 8:00am until 4:00pm, Business Matchmaking will hold its Northern California Regional Event in Fiesta Hall.  Business Matchmaking has enabled more than 88,000 small business sales appointments resulting in billions of dollars in contracts granted.

Business Matchmaking is presented by Symantec together with Bank of America, Dun & Bradstreet, HP, Lockheed Martin, Greatland, POTHOS, BMC Software, Brocade, Knowledge Broker, Regenerate Power and Gabe, Inc., in cooperation with federal and state agencies and leading non-profit organizations.

The Business Matchmaking Northern California Regional face-to-face event will welcome area entrepreneurs at the San Mateo Event Center located in San Mateo, CA on Thursday, March 28, 2013. Participating firms will be personally processed to prepare for meetings with key buyers from federal, state and local government agencies and major corporations.

puzzle Business Matchmaking provides unprecedented opportunities for small businesses to secure selling opportunities from government agencies and major corporations at key events. The program unites education, training, counseling, key resources, tools and special relationships with thousands of procurement representatives from the public and private sector. Based on the continued support by Symantec, HP, Dun & Bradstreet, Bank of America, Lockheed Martin, Greatland, Brocade, BMC Software, Pothos, and other private companies together with the SBA, SCORE, SBDC, The Latino Coalition and WIPP, Business Matchmaking continues to be a free initiative for all small business participants.

Business Matchmaking, a not-for-profit public/private initiative, was started by a partnership between the SBA and HP. In the past ten years, we have enabled over 88,000 meetings between small business sellers and buyers from federal, state and local government agencies and Fortune 500 corporations, resulting in several billions of contracts granted.

In addition, Symantec and other sponsors make available special products and services for qualified small businesses enhancing their opportunities to sell to the most demanding of federal agencies and participating corporations.

The components of the Northern California Regional Business Matchmaking event are:

  • Individual business counseling provided by SCORE, Small Business Development Centers and other resource partners
  • Customized matching for small businesses with appropriate procurement representatives based on products and services
  • Exhibits and networking with regional small business resources including: Access to Capital, SBA loans, federal qualification requirements, women, veteran and minority business tools, certifications, etc.
  • Access to representatives from private sector co-sponsors for information about small business selling opportunities and special programs
