November 15 – 17, 2013: The San Mateo Harvest Festival

Posted on November 12, 2013

Hollywood BeetlesThe San Mateo Harvest Festival has booked brand new entertainment acts that will have attendees tapping their toes as they take a stroll down memory lane. Performing at the Harvest Festival for the first time are the Hollywood Beetles!  The group offers a tribute to the Beatles that is regarded by many as one of the finest and most accurate Beatles cover band around, emulating the famed musical legends both vocally and visually.

The whole family will enjoy the comedy performances from John Park, known for his “Funny Waiter” show. Park’s humorous skits mix relatable dining experiences with eye popping tricks. The show captivates audiences with playful volunteer contests against John Park himself. One of the highlights of Park’s performance includes a plate spinning routine where his talent for catching the eyes of onlookers is on full display.

The popular strolling performers will also return, with Fables of the West meandering the aisles in their outrageous Western themed costumes, and Mama Claus and Eddie the Elf serenading customers with familiar Holiday tunes.

On Saturday and Sunday families can stop by the mobile pet adoption center, sponsored by the Peninsula Humane Society, or they can visit the KidZone, which will offer gingerbread cookie decorating for children. Plus, New York Life will be on hand offering free Child ID kits.

The Harvest Festivals began 41 years ago in San Francisco as a destination for artists and craftspeople to gather and have a forum to sell their handmade products. Today, the show has grown to encompass ten shows in the state of California, Nevada and Arizona, and still continues its tradition of only featuring arts and crafts made in the United States.  Each exhibitor is subject to a rigid jury process to be selected as a featured artisan, ensuring a rich diversity and high quality of all products sold. The Harvest Festivals, owned and managed by Western Exhibitors, are the largest indoor arts and crafts show on the West Coast.
