This weekend the 42nd annual Harvest Festival Original Art & Craft show makes its way to the San Mateo County Event Center. More than 24,000 handmade items from hundreds of artisans will be on display and for sale November 14-16. It is, in my humble opinion, the greatest arts & crafts fair…ever.

One of the West Coast’s largest indoor arts and crafts shows, the Harvest Festival ensures that all products are handmade in the USA. You’ll find three days’ worth of shopping for home décor, toys, clothing, jewelry, and all kinds of other treasures in the vendor booths, and plenty of entertainment for the kids and your friends who might not want to lollygag through each and every booth. Performances by comedians Scotty and Trink as well as Cajun and Zydeco musicians Tom Rigney and Flambeau will entertain nonstop throughout the show, and Chef Ray Duey will hold a special fruit and veggie carving demo each day. Mama Claus and Eddie the Elf (aka Big Mama Sue and Fast Eddie will provide strolling entertainment throughout the show.

Check your bags and parcels at the door or buy a Harvest Festival shopping bag. The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA charity will receive half of the proceeds from all $1 shopping bags sold and from donations collected from the parcel check service. The PHS/SPCA is a private non-profit guided by the humane ethic to build healthy relationships between people and animals. The organization accepts all animals in need of care and gives a second chance to the neediest animals. The PHS/SPCA will host a special mobile adoption on Saturday and Sunday.

Loaves and Fishes Family Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that serves free, nutritious meals to the working poor, families, homeless and seniors, will be the festival’s food partner. Donate an unexpired non-perishable food item or a monetary donation and receive a $2 discount on one General or Senior Admission. Your donation benefits Loaves and Fishes, a non-profit which serves nutritious meals to the working poor, families, homeless and seniors.

There will be plenty for your kids to do in the KidZone, sponsored by Gingerbread-on-the-Go and Nature of Art for Kids. They’ll have a chance to decorate cookies, do eco-friendly art & craft activities, and they’ll be able to create a child I.D. kit sponsored by New York Life.

Register on site for your chance to win an iPad mini, or drop off your printed out form to be entered for a grab drag drawing.
